My dreams

Like anyone else i hve dreams but i do not feel motivated in reaching them. I'm 16 years old and in grade 10. My parents keep asking me what i wanna be when i grow up and i always have difficulty answering that question! I always say accountant because accounting is my favourite subject! Yes i wanna be an accountant but wat i love the most is writting my own love stories and poems . I enjoy doing that, i love being creative! And i never talk 'bout that much! My friend have seen one of the love stories i have written and she thinks i'm good even though i make mistakes when writting them usually dats wat make me feel unmotivated! I need motivational tips!

You know, when it comes to writing, your learn it by doing it. And what I have noticed in my life is that if I try to go to a certain direction in life simply because it is "proper" and "the wise thing to do", I most often don't have the motivation to continue through it. My heart is not in it, literally.

But when I follow my heart, and do what I love, suddenly unexpected doors open - like there was magic in following your heart. And you know - there is. Really.

You could excercise your writing by keeping a small notebook and writing about things you see. Lets say you are walking outside and see a sparrow washing itself in a tiny puddle. Watch the scene and then write it down in as much detail as you can. This way you train your mind to observe the surroundings, and you shall notice your stories will also improve.

It really is a wise advice when you are told to write about what you know. Feels mundane and boring to you, but may be fresh and interesting to someone else. Write what you feel, write about what you know and what you are interested in, and that enthusiasm will shine through in your writings.

Start small - tiny stories and thoughts. And maybe one day you fill find yourself writing a real book. It just takes practice and determination - but whatever you set your mind to, you can achieve.
