You got is so right! Things happen in life we cannot control - but we can control our own attitude towards them. True peace is always within our own mind, and we alone are responsible for our thoughts. Positive thinking is a skill that can be learned.

Getting bitter serves no one. It is ok to feel angry at first when someone´s actions insult us, because it is not good to deny our true emotions.
But then we need to move on. If we don´t , we remain stuck in the bad memories and let them drain our energies.
Turning our attention to all the good things we right now have helps us concentrate our energies to better things. And from there it is easier to look at the future with positive expectation.
