It seems kids stories on searched on the net as well, not just stories about children. So I thought why not put some of those up here too. After all I do try to keep a family friendly site.

Good stories for kids are a treasure. I remember from my own childhood how I simply loved fairy stories - and wrote them myself too. When we moved I found some of my old writings. Oh what a trip down the memory lane that was! What a wonderful imagination children have!

I spent so many evenings behind a closed door in my room, writing amazing fantasy stories and fairy tales. I lived in those stories, I could almost see what I was writing about… I remember how I forgot myself in fairy stories so totally I was completely oblivious of my surroundings and almost scared off my skins if someone opened the door and said something. I lived and breathed the adventures, I was in the story.

As an adult, when we moving to a new apartment I found some of my old writings in an old cardboard box. Oh what a trip down the memory lane that was! I’m not saying those stories would be something anyone would publish today, but they sure showed to me what a wonderful imagination children have! I remember how I forgot myself in fairy stories so totally I was completely oblivious of my surroundings. I lived and breathed the adventures, I was in the story.

And remembering how totally immersed I was in my own imagination, I realized how a child's imagination is so strong it is important to feed it with safe stories. A small child may not recognize the difference between fact and fiction as everyone should know. His / her fears are so real the adults wouldn't believe it. (You should never laugh at a child who is scared of something, because that fear is so real to the child)

I searched for public domain stories for children and first I found the Hans Christian Andersen stories. Everyone knows his fairy tales! I for one just loved them when I was a child.
